Methodological Framework of the Research
This chapter aims to present the empirical framework through which the theoretical hypotheses concerning the evolution in and around international network enterprises in a new global economy have been tested. The conceptualization of Chapter 1 is based on the assumption that the ascertainment of socio-cultural aspects in cross-border operating firms requires a comprehensive analysis of corporate cultural processes within overseas subsidiaries. This logic contains an empirical approach to examine the phenomena in and the relationship of foreign units with their headquarters and vice-versa. The theoretical instrumentation has drawn attention to the necessity of applying a comprehensive two-dimensional systemic model in order to explore the corporate cultural profile of foreign daughter firms through the identification of their actual culture and determination of its internal and external influencing factors.
