Bei der Aufnahme von Verkehrsunfällen werden seit Jahrzehnten photogrammetrische Methoden eingesetzt, um aus Bildern maßstäbliche Pläne herstellen zu können. Heute stehen zusätzlich die Lasertechnik zur Unfallstellenvermessung sowie 3D-Scanner und 3D-Photogrammetrie für die Unfallrekonstruktion zur Verfügung
