Abstract

The current chapter introduces the overall CHILS framework. Implementation issues, the range of applications and the features of the framework are presented. The implementation realizes the previously discussed concepts of hardware to simulation coupling, interface implementation, and coupling analysis. The CHILS framework currently embeds a 32Bit Infineon TriCore® μC in the simulation environments SystemC and MATLAB®/Simulink®. The implementation supports the TC1796ED, TC1766ED, TC1767ED and the TC1797ED μC. The so-called emulation devices combine the unchanged standard μC and an additional emulation extension located on the same silicon die.
