Zusammenfassung
Hanf (Cannabis) zählt als Pflanzengattung zur Familie der Hanfgewächse und gilt als die älteste Nutzpflanze weltweit. Der älteste in Europa bekannte Hanffund stammt aus der Zeit um 5500 v. Chr. In China wurden Hanffunde mit einem Alter von mind. 10.000 Jahre verzeichnet. Die Pflanzengattung Cannabis besteht aus einer Art (Cannabis Sativa), zählt zur Ordnung der Roseähnlichen (Rosidae) und wird als diese in drei Unterarten aufgeteilt, welche unter sich weitere künstliche Züchtungen erfahren:

Cannabis Sativa subsp. Ruderalis (Ruderalhanf, Russischer Hanf, Wilder Hanf)

Cannabis Sativa subsp. Indica (Indischer Hanf)
