Abstract

The studies presented in this work are partly motivated by our membership in the research group Forscher Gruppe Frei Form Flächen (FGFFF)1 supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. In collaboration with scientists from mechanical engineering, we provide the numerical analysis for problems arising in the field of highspeed machining. In what follows, we demonstrate the application of our strategies to grinding and milling processes. Furthermore we show some results concerning adaptive mesh design for FE models in elastoplasticity.
