Zusammenfassung
Dieser Abschnitt ist der strömungsmechanischen Simulation der turbulenten Verbrennung für Diesel- wie Ottomotoren gewidmet. Im Kern geht es dabei „nur“ um die turbulente Mittelung des Quellterms der Spezies-Transportgleichungen (14.18); allerdings ist unmittelbar einsichtig, dass dies ein schwieriges Unterfangen darstellt, da Reaktionskinetik typischerweise exponentiell von der Temperatur abhängt. Der notwendige Modellierungsaufwand dafür ist nicht unerheblich. Mit der reinen Applikation kommerziell standardisierter Modellierungen kommt man (leider) immer noch nicht sehr weit.
