CATIA V5 (Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application) ist ein leistungsfähiges CAx-System, das ursprünglich für den Flugzeugbau entwickelt wurde und sich auch in der Automobilindustrie etabliert hat. Mit CATIA V5 ist es möglich, dreidimensionale Draht-, Flächen- und Volumenmodelle zu entwickeln und aus diesen zweidimensionale Zeichnungen abzuleiten oder zu erstellen.
