Die Schalldämmung, also die Transmission des Schalls durch Trennbauteile, wird durch den Transmissionsgrad τ angegeben, der das Verhältnis der vom Bauteil abgestrahlten Schallleistung P2 zur auftreffenden Schallleistung P1 auf das Bauteil angibt.
