Zusammenfassung
Primäre Botenstoffe (Neurotransmitter, Hormone und parakrine Substanzen) wirken auf Rezeptoren, die entweder in der Plasmamembran oder in interzellulären Kompartimenten liegen. Das Binden des Informationsmoleküls (Ligand) an seinen Rezeptor löst eine Kaskadenreaktion aus, an der oft intrazelluläre Moleküle beteiligt sind, die als intrazelluläre Botenstoffe oder second messengers bezeichnet werden.
