Wir werten die kanonische oder die großkanonische Zustandssumme für eine Reihe von Modellsystemen aus. Dazu gehören das ideale Spinsystem, das ideale zweiatomige Gas, das verdünnte reale Gas und ideale Quantengase. Zu den Quantengasen zählen das ideale Bosegas (Helium-4, Photonen, Phononen) und das ideale Fermigas (Helium-3, Elektronen im Metall). In der Diskussion wird der Bezug zu realen Systemen und beobachtbaren physikalischen Effekten hergestellt.
