Zusammenfassung
Unter Biosuspensionen seien im Folgenden suspendierte biogene Materialien verstanden. Sie bestehen aus Mikroorganismen und deren extrazellulären Stoffwechselprodukten suspendiert in einem wässrigen Nährmedium. Wegen ihres häufig komplexen Fließverhaltens — das wiederum starken Einfluss auf das Impuls-, Stoff- und Wärmeaustauschverhalten ausübt — müssen sie möglichst vollständig rheologisch charakterisiert werden. Den Grundlagen hierzu widmet sich dieses Kapitel.
