Zusammenfassung
Amphibien sind sowohl aquatische als auch terrestrische Organismen, die fast immer ein aquatisches Larvenstadium besitzen. Sie haben für die Wirbeltiere das Land erobert und sind am Anfang des Karbons bereits in beträchtlicher Vielfalt vorhanden. In ihrer Entwicklung bilden sie (wie die Fische) noch keine Embryonalhäute aus.
