Zusammenfassung
Sowohl die breite Palette der dargestellten Ökosysteme Mitteleuropas als auch die unterschiedlichen Ziele, Methoden und Maßnahmen der Ökosystemrenaturierung spiegeln die inhaltliche Breite der Renaturierungsökologie wider. Auf dieser Grundlage werden im Folgenden einige wesentliche Sachverhalte zusammenfassend herausgehoben, die die Renaturierungsökologie als eigenständige Disziplin auszeichnen. Zudem wird der zukünftige Forschungsbedarf in der Renaturierungsökologie spezifiziert.
