Zusammenfassung

Die Schweißdrüsen gehören wie Haare, Nägel und Talgdrüsen zu den epithelialen Anhangs gebilden der Haut (Adnexe der Haut). Man unter scheidet seit (1917) nach der Art der Sekretion zwei Haupttypen, die ekkrinen und die apokrinen Schweißdrüsen. In der angloamerikanischen Literatur werden die ekkrinen Schweißdrüsen als „the true sweat glands“ be zeichnet, die apokrinen dagegen häufig als „apocrine glands“, da sie beim Menschen keine thermoregulatorische Funktion besitzen (Ackerman et al. 1997, Urmacher 1997). (1967), (1967), (1979) nannten die ekkrinen Schweißdrüsen „atrichiale“ Schweiß drüsen, da sie im Gegensatz zu den apokrinen („epitrichialen“) Schweißdrüsen keine Beziehung zum Follikel aufweisen. Diese Nomenklatur hat sich nicht durchgesetzt. (1998) sieht keinen zwingenden Grund, von der bisherigen Benennung abzugehen. Von (1987) wurde eine dritte apoekkrine Hybridform der Schweißdrüsen in den Achselhöhlen von Patien ten mit Hyperhidrosis axillaris beschrieben (S. 12 f )
