Melanoma in the Oral Cavity
Melanomas within oral mucosa are rare and, as a rule, do not pose any diagnostic difficulty during their invasive stage. On the other hand, melanoma in situ on mucous membranes and the desmoplastic melanoma of the oral cavity can be important diagnostic traps both clinically and histologically.
