Zusammenfassung
Bereits 1931 hat Burman auf die Möglichkeit der endoskopischen Untersuchung am oberen Sprunggelenk hingewiesen, er kam jedoch zu dem Schluss, dass dieses Gelenk nicht für die Arthroskopie geeignet sei. Mittlerweile hat sich diese Auffassung geändert. Der Autor führt seit 1976 routinemäßig die Arthroskopie am oberen Sprunggelenk durch. In Übereinstimmung mit der Literatur besteht heute der Trend hin zur arthroskopischen Operation.
