Zusammenfassung

Das Tarsal-Tunnel-Syndrom ist eine distale Kompressionsneuropathie des N. tibialis posterior im Bereich des Tarsaltunnels oder eine Kompression seiner Endäste nach Austritt aus dem Tarsaltunnel. Die erste Beschreibung dieses Krankheitsbildes stammt von Kopell und Thompson (1960). Der Begriff „Tarsal-Tunnel-Syndrom“ wurde von Keck (1962) und Lam (1967) im Jahre 1962 geprägt. In der weiteren Folge beschäftigten sich verschiedene Autoren mit diesem Problem (Eberhard/Millesi 1993, Hermann et al. 1991, Julsrud 1995, Mumenthaler 1993, Pfeiffer/Cracchiolo 1994).
