Abstract

The hemodynamics of stentless valves are generally recognized as being superior to that of stented devices. Low gradients and large effective orifice areas reflect minimal residual obstruction improving systolic performance, while regression of left ventricular mass diminishes ventricular stiffness improving ventricular filling and diastolic performance.
