Bei dem momentanen Stand der Forschung zum Thema „Neuropsychologische Defizite nach HWS-Beschleunigungsverletzung (HWS-BV)“ ist zukünftig nicht mehr die Frage des „Ob“ sondern vielmehr des „Warum“ zu klären. Die Möglichkeit des Auftretens von kognitiven Beeinträchtigungen nach HWS-BV ist beim derzeitigen Kenntnisstand als gesichert anzusehen. Die subjektiven Äußerungen der Betroffenen spiegeln sich in objektiven neuropsychologischen Diagnostikbefunden wider und sind keineswegs nur Ausdruck eines Rentenbegehrens oder einer prätraumatischen Persönlichkeitsstörung, um nur zwei häufiger vorgebrachte Einwände zu erwähnen; dies mag vielleicht in individuellen Einzelfällen zutreffen.
