Zusammenfassung
Eine Thrombose ist definiert als völliger oder partieller Verschluss eines Blutgefäßes durch ein Blutgerinnsel; eine Thromboembolie als Obstruktion eines Gefäßes durch Thrombusanteile, die sich an anderer Stelle im Organismus gebildet haben und von dort disloziert sind. Spontane Thrombosen sind Gefäßverschlüsse ohne zugrunde liegende Begleiterkrankung (exogene Risikofaktoren), von sekundären Thrombosen spricht man, wenn ein Gefäßverschluss auf dem Boden von Begleiterkrankungen, therapeutischen Interventionen oder nach Medikamentengabe entsteht.
