Die zur endovenösen linksventrikulären Stimulation verwendeten Elektroden werden in die Seitvenen des Koronarsinus (CS) bzw. deren Endäste implantiert. Daher ist das Wissen um die Anatomie der CS-Venen, einschließlich der Kenntnis der endovaskulären Strukturen, Voraussetzung für eine erfolgreiche Implantation von kardialen Resynchronisationssystemen. Darüber hinaus sind spezielle Kenntnisse in der topographischen Anatomie für die Implantationsdurchführung von besonderer Bedeutung, ergeben sich doch aus der Nähe zu bestimmten anatomische Strukturen Chancen und Risiken während und nach der Prozedur.
