Häufig treten bei Patienten mit Herzinsuffizienz intraventrikuläre Leitungsverzögerungen, meist in Form eines Linksschenkelblockes, auf. Die Häufigkeit liegt zwischen 20 und 28% innerhalb der Herzinsuffizienzpopulation [1, 2], wobei sich der relative Anteil der Betroffenen mit zunehmendem Schweregrad der Herzinsuffizienz auf bis zu 38% erhöht [2]. Insbesondere in der Kombination von hochgradig eingeschränkter linksventrikulärer Funktion (EF≦35%) und LSB sind die höchsten Mortalitätsraten zu beklagen [1].
