Die Auswahl an speziellen qualitativ hochwertigen Laufschuhen hat in den letzten Jahren kontinuierlich zugenommen. Trotzdem muss man sich die Frage stellen, ob es überhaupt notwendig ist, speziell auf den eigenen Fußtyp angepasste Laufschuhe zu erwerben. Grundvoraussetzung dafür, diese individuelle Auswahl treffen zu können, ist eine gute Kenntnis der eigenen Anatomie. Wir haben jedoch in einer Studie [2] nachgewiesen, dass der Läufer nur in der Hälfte der Fälle die eigene Anatomie richtig einschätzen konnte. Daher muss man sich die Frage stellen, wie häufig der Athlet im richtigen Schuh steckt.
