Das Hüftgelenk kann von verschiedenen Zugängen erreicht werden. Insbesondere die um das Hüftgelenk herum lokalisierten Nerven und Gefäße limitieren die Zugangsmöglich keiten. Fast alle Operateure favorisieren einen Zugang basierend auf ihrer Ausbildung, Erfahrung und ihrer Interpretation publizierter Ergebnisse. Spezielle Pathologien aber auch die Verwendung unterschiedlicher Implantate und Instrumente sind vielfach mit einem Zugang vorteilhaft zu adressieren bzw. durchzuführen. Alle Zugänge am Hüftgelenk haben eine langjährige Historie. In den letzten Jahren hat das Interesse an kleinen, „minimal invasiven“ Zugängen stark zugenommen. Alle diese minimierten Zugänge basieren auf den bereits bekannten Zugängen. Im Folgenden werden deshalb die klassischen Zugänge und die jeweils minimal invasiven Varianten dargestellt.
