Accession of Ukraine to the WTO: New Challenges for Economic Reforms

In modem world, which is characterized by the processes of globalization and integration of countries into the international trading system, none of the countries can afford to remain in isolation and pursue the policy of relying exclusively on its own resources. Therefore, the accession to the WTO is an agenda issue for all the countries. In the long-term perspective it is hard to underestimate a positive impact of all the benefits associated with the WTO membership on the economic development and exports providing that the government implements an appropriate policy and follows the principles of market economy. The lack of such principles is the biggest obstacle for some countries that are engaged in negotiations on the accession to the WTO.
