Abstract

This chapter presents an overview of quality management. The studies on quality are traced through various disciplines like total quality management, marketing, and economics by observing the reflections of quality uncertainty. The commonalities of the approaches to quality in these disciplines are arrived at as a multidisciplinary approach to business performance. Earlier metrics for business performance are also discussed and presented in a table. Finally, a graphical representation for the management of quality uncertainty and perception is shown, which ultimately makes business grow.
