Abstract
Virtual biobots are computer models that look and behave like animals. They work by simulating the biomechanics and nervous systems of real animals in virtual environments that simulate the physics of the real world. We have developed anatomical, neurophysiological and software methods for building virtual biobots. Virtual biobots have direct applications in biology teaching and video animation, as well as research applications in biology and engineering. Our virtual biobot builder technology may underpin the development of novel biomimetic technologies by facilitating the development of complex software models of biological systems.
