Abstract

This chapter introduces and discusses the basics of “Weyl correspondence”, or “Weyl quantization” as it is also called. It is today the preferred quantization procedure in physics, for reasons that will be discussed (one of the main features of the Weyl correspondence is that it is the only pseudo-differential quantization procedure which is symplectically covariant).
