Abstract
Induction has been studied for more than two thousand years, starting with Aristotle. Many philosophers have made important contributions on the subject, such as Bacon, Mill, Hume, Herschel, Poincaré, Peirce, Reichenbach, Carnap and Popper. The Chinese logician Mo [1993] has also made a profound study of its subtleties. Before exploring induction theoretically, we will give an overview of the relevant concepts.
