Abstract
On June 27, 1997 professor Israel Gohberg received his first honorary doctorate. It was awarded by the Technische Hochschule at Darmstadt. The laudatio was presented by the late Prof. Dr. Erhard Meister, under the title Fredholm-Noether- Gohberg. Unfortunately, the text of the laudatio is missing. The program (in German) of the corresponding “Festkolloquium” is reproduced here below.
