Abstract
In the “Future” category of the DDC Competition, 68 entries were submitted that might help to answer these questions. Students and graduates have come up with multifaceted, multilayered thoughts on their perceptual/conceptual environment and their response to it, ranging from product development and corporate communication and informational efficacy to personal self-anaiysis. In the sparkling freshness of the conceptual approaches adopted, in the stringency of execution, and the Professionalism of the presentation, a goodly portion of exceptional talent is manifested. It is gratifying to observe how broad the spectrum is, from meticulous examinations of the quintessentially quotidian to experimental documentation of individual experience. If these works constitute a representative cross-section of what is currently being achieved at university level, we need have no worries about the future of design excellence.
