Abstract

Né à Angoulème le 18 septembre 1852, Octave Callandreau entre à polytechnique en 1872. Il est diplomé de l’École polytechnique en 1874 et rejoint l’Observatoire de Paris comme aide-astronome puis à partir de 1881, comme astronome adjoint. À l’Observatoire, il se livre à la fois à des travaux d’observation et d’astronomie pratique tout en approfondissant sa formation mathématique.
