Zusammenfassung

Die Forschung nach den Ursachen des Karzinoms hat von jeher als Ziel die Wachstumsbeeinflussung, als Endzweck die Therapie, eventuell die Verhütung der Rezidiven dieses furchtbaren Leidens gehabt. Von den ältesten Zeiten an finden wir karzinomheilende Mittel angegeben und es würde zu weit führen, alle diese, die großenteils wieder bald in Vergessenheit geraten sind, anzuführen; dagegen sollen alle jene Ergebnisse Berücksichtigung finden, die auch in unserer Zeit in den Kreis experimentell chemischer Forschung in bezug auf das Wachstum des Karzinoms aufgenommen wurden.
