Zusammenfassung

Das Pankreaskarzinom steht an fünfter Stelle der durch Krebs bedingten Todesfälle. Die Ursache hierfür ist eine in der Regel frühe lymphatische, hämatogene und peritoneale Metastasierung, aber auch das Fehlen typischer Frühsymptome, der Mangel an effektiven Screening-Methoden und die schlechte diagnostische Abklärbarkeitdes retroperitoneal gelegenen Organs. Es ist damit um so wichtiger, bei Vorliegen eines klinischen Verdachtes das volle diagnostische und therapeutische Spektrum zu nutzen. Nur so kann der zur Zeit deprimierend niedrige Anteil von kurativ behandelbaren Patienten gesteigert werden.
