Zusammenfassung

Obwohl der Dünndarm 75% der Länge und 90% der Mukosa-Oberfläche des Gastrointestinaltrakts repräsentiert, treten hier nur 1% der malignen Darmtumoren auf. Insgesamt sind maligne Tumoren des Dünndarms mit einem Anteil von 0,3% aller Malignóme extrem selten [1]. Die Gründe für die geringe Inzidenz dieser Malignóme sind noch nicht hinreichend geklärt. Es existieren verschiedene Hypothesen zur Erklärung dieses Phänomens [2]:

  1. a)

    Verminderte Exposition des Dünndarmes mit dem Darminhalt durch rasche Passage von Zellgiften.

  2. b)

    Schnelle Proliferation und Erneuerung der Mukosazellen.

  3. c)

    Detoxifizierung der Karzinogene durch mikrosomale Enzyme, insbesondere der Benzpyren-Hydroxylase.

  4. d)

    Lokale Suppression der Karzinogenese durch immunkompetente Zellen.

  5. e)

    Relative Steriliät des Darminhaltes.
