Zusammenfassung
Ein wesentlicher Aspekt zentraler Informationsverarbeitung und der korrespondierenden neuronalen Aktivität ist die Verknüpfung von Eingangs- mit Ausgangssignalen (Eggermont 1990). Dies läßt sich auf der Ebene des einzelnen Neurons, insbesondere aber auch auf der des Gesamtverhaltens untersuchen. Analysiert man unter diesem Blickwinkel die verschiedenen physiologischen und experimentalpsychologischen Verfahren, die auf Verhaltensebene zur Objektivierung von Störungen der zentralen Informationsverarbeitung bei Schizophrenie eingesetzt wurden, so sind 2 Untersuchungstypen von besonderer Bedeutung: 1. Anregung mit einem kontinuierlichen Signal, Analyse der Ausgangsfunktion v. a. im Frequenzbereich, Extraktion eines Maßes für die Ähnlichkeit beider Signale, welches dann als Indikator für die aktuelle Güte der Signalübertragung durch das ZNS dient. Als Prototyp dieses Vorgehens sei die Untersuchung glatter Augenfolge-bewegungen bei Vorgabe eines 0,4 Hz Sinus angeführt. Mit diesem Ansatz konnten Gesunde und Kranke getrennt und Funktionsabweichungen bei Risikoträgern für Schizophrenie nachgewiesen werden („SPEM-Dysfunktion“, Holzmann 1984).
