Part of the Few-Body Systems book series (FEWBODY, volume 7)

The situation of pion absorption in the A=3, 4 nuclei is described with emphasis on the reaction modes. The phenomenology of 2N reactions and the evidence for reaction modes involving more than two nucleons are discussed. Similarities between pion and photon absorption are emphasized.
