Structure and Fragmentation of Few-Body Coulomb Systems

Abstract

The problem of the structure and the fragmentation of few-body Coulomb systems remains a difficult outstanding problem of atomic and molecular physics. Recent progress in the resolution of this problem, both theoretical and experimental, is described. Particular attention is given to the fundamental three-body Coulomb problems of the photo-ionisation of helium and the electron impact ionisation of atomic hydrogen.
