CAD for Robot Workcells in Battery Manufacturing
The article presents the initial step toward the introduction of robotics into the manufacturing process of the lead-acid batteries. Four possible applications of the AESA IRb 6 robot were studied using computer simulation support. The PC based robot simulation package WORKSPACE was used for designing and developing the robotic workcells. The package enables real time 3D graphic simulation of robots, conveyors, autonomous guided vehicels (AGVs) and other objects movements. The results of basic investment calculations for the four robot applications are also presented.
