Techniques to Improve the Performances of an Industrial SCARA Robot

This paper suggests some techniques to improve the performances of industrial SCARA robots. Such techniques are:
  1. 1)

    a method of calibration based on optical measurement, which increases the robot accuracy;

  2. 2)

    a parametric definition of the actuators motions, which optimizes the dynamic behaviour of the robot.

Both techniques can be applied on-field, when the manipulator is operative.
