Die kontinuierliche Überwachung des Atemwegsdrucks (Paw), der Beatmungsvolumina (Hubvolumen, Minutenvolumen) und ggfls. des Atemzeitverhältnisses gehören heute zum selbstverständlichen Monitoring unter apparativer Beatmung. Sie dient zur Respiratoreinstellung, zur Überwachung der Gerätefunktion und zur fortlaufenden Kontrolle des Krankheits- und Behandlungsverlaufs.
