Abstract

The concentration of extracellular amino acids has been monitored from the exposed brain surface during epilepsy surgery with the aim of investigating a possible correlation with the electrocortigraphic (ECoG) activity. Sampling has been performed in 17 patients, 6 children and 11 adults. Epilepsy surgery was carried out on nontumoral (n = 7) or nonexpanding tumoral (n = 19) cases.
