Abstract

Recent data of the proton knockout reaction in 3He and 4He are discussed. The information on high momentum components up to 500 MeV/c is presented and the role of the final state interaction in the 3He(e,e’p) reaction is emphasized. In 4He an unusually strong deviation of the impulse approximation is observed. We discuss the role of nucleon-nucleon correlations in the dense four-body system and investigate possible explanations for the observed breakdown of the impulse approximation.
