Trinucleon D-State Effects in p-d Radiative Capture Reaction

Abstract

The tensor analyzing powers of the 1H(d,γ)3He are calculated using a realistic three nucleon wave function, and considering only the main E1 transition. The matrix elements are expressed as a sum of terms that identify the angular momentum components of the initial and final states. 3We conclude that the odd angular momentum component of the 3He D-state wave function originate less than 12% of Ayy(θ = 90°) for Ed < 45 MeV.
