On the Construction of Three-Nucleon Potentials

Abstract

The research programme for constructing three nucleon potentials is discussed and an attempt is made to insert recent developments into a broad chronological perspective. My aim is both to put into evidence the sometimes subtle differences among the various approaches and to demarcate areas that demand further work.
