Properties of the Nucleon-Nucleon Interaction and Three-Nucleon Scattering

Abstract

We report on the present status of the theory of nucleon-deuteron scattering, especially after the advent of three-nucleon continuum calculations with realistic meson-theoretical models of nucleon-nucleon forces. We address three-nucleon scattering results so far available for the Paris and Bonn potentials and discuss them in the light of the nucleon-nucleon on-shell and off-shell properties of these models. In both the two-nucleon and three-nucleon systems special emphasis is laid on the comparison of the theoretical predictions with available experimental data.
