Indications of embolization in bone and soft tissue tumors

  • Chapter
Interventional Radiology in Bone and Joint

Abstract

Despite recent developments in noninvasive imaging modalities such as computed tomography or magnetic resonance, angiography maintains a firm hold in pretherapeutic work-up and treatment of certain bone tumors. Angiography is vital for determining arterial structure of certain areas especially in the spine. Furthermore, it allows embolization and intra-arterial chemotherapy.
