Abstract
Predictions of the static properties of baryons from a chiral invariant effective Lagrangian constructed from pions and the low mass mesons discussed. The agreement with experiment is quite satisfactory. This gives strong support to the idea that baryon physics can be deduced from meson physics via solitons.
