Abstract

After a presentation of the “expected” results from experiments at the CERN \(\bar pp\) collider (soft hadrons, large-pT jets, intermediate vector bosons and heavy quarks) the various exotic, unexpected results are discussed. In particular, the analysis procedures are presented in some detail in order to enable the reader to appreciate the accomplishments and to get some understanding of the problems. This leads to the discussion of the motivation for the present upgrading program and the presentation of a possible future large hadron collider in the LEP tunnel.
