  • D. Andries Bosch

With knowledge of the stereotactic principles and the various indications and contraindications, we may now proceed to the applications, technical details and pitfalls. Although the apphcabihty differs a httle from instrument to instrument, the commonly used and up to date systems of Riechert- Mundinger, Leksell and Brown-Roberts-Wells are all fully equipped for modern stereotactic surgery, including CT guidance. The stereotactic techniques will be described with the help of Leksell’s apparatus, which is easy to understand because it lacks a phantom device and simply places the target in the center of the semicircular arc.
